Living and Eating...What's better than that?

Welcome to our blog, Food Fatties! The Food Fatty Team is made up of Liz and Jaise. We're here to get down to the "nitty gritty" with you. Our main objective is to let you know (hopefully, BEFORE you step into the restaurant) what's the GOOD, BAD and the UGLY on the menu. As Food Fatties, we will be blogging the foods we eat, where we eat and our honest opinions on the taste, appearance and anything else we can comment on!

Lunch at #RubyTuesday - Schenectady, NY. I ordered the “Parmesan Chicken Pasta”. When it came to the table it was nice and REALLY HOT. I actually burned my hand on the plate…(thanks for the warning, Mr. server). I’m just going to assume they throw it in the broiler right before serving it to make the cheese look (and taste) so good. It was delicious. The had just the right ratio of Parmesan sauce to red sauce…and when the two mix its heavenly. The chicken was nice and crisp. It would’ve been better if the chicken had a little more seasoning.
I paired my meal with a Raspberry Iced Tea…you know, the one with the raspberry seeds in the glass?!
Overall, I had a great experience here.

I have to say, I have not enjoyed anything on the #RubyTuesdays menu this much since they got rid of their “chicken pasta with capers?” dish. This “Asiago Peppercorn Steak" is fantastic! I really like the flavors and the melt in your mouth tenderness of the steak… not to bad for a chain restaurant. The green beans and mash were surprisingly good as well. I did however notice red sauce folded into my potatoes. That did make me lose my appetite a bit because I’m not the biggest fan of tomato based sauces. This is hands down my favorite dish here. I paired this with a classic: diet coke.

Breakfast

Today we roll out of bed with our tummys rumbling. First thought, you ask? What’s for breakfast. Obvious answer: McDonald’s . I, Liz ordered a French Vanilla Iced Coffee, Sausage Egg and Cheese McGriddle and two Hash Browns with a few packets of Strawberry Jam. I will say my breakfast was delightful. The strawberry jelly makes the hash browns go down smoothly. My only complaint is that my sandwich was built as follows: McGriddle bun, cheese, sausage, egg, bun. I would of preferred if my cheese landed between my sausage and egg. Generally speaking, I don’t put cheese on my pancakes so why would I put it directly on my McGriddle bun?! #McDonaldsProblems

As for my coffee… I enjoy the French Vanilla IC. I had the Caramel Iced Coffee the other day. It tasted like a chemically enhanced milk. Still, not too bad for $1.

For breakfast today, I had a Sausage Egg and Cheese McGriddle as well. It was all right… I didn’t really appreciate the condition of the sausage. #overcooked. Also, I’d love to know why 85% of the cheese ends up glued to the wrapper instead of melting all up in my sandwich?

As for my drink, I chose the Strawberry Banana Smoothie. I have nothing but good words about it. There’s something about those bananas.Liz even saw a big chunk of strawberry in it….leading me to believe that not all McDonald’s foods are super processed
